The term status quo refers to the current government system of a respective country. Here, it refers to ideologies practiced by national governments. The three main ones are 
Neoliberalism, 
Neoconservatism, and 
Social Democracy, but of course some nations like those in the Gulf who practice 
Islamic Theocracy break the rule.
