"The biblical view is not just apolitical but antipolitical in the sense that it refuses to confer any value on political power, or in the sense that it regards political power as idolatrous."
Religious Rejectionism an ideology that rejects politics for religious reasons. He is extremely similar to regular apoliticism, as neither holds a political belief, though the latter has the excuse that he does not partake in politics because he believes it interferes with his religious practices. It can also represent religious people who are against involvement in politics for non-religious reasons.
Reasoning
There are multiple religious reasons why one might reject involvement in politics, especially democratic politics:
- The belief that the religious identity of a person should be their most important identity. As such focusing on secular politics goes against your religion.
- The belief that sovereignty is ordained by divine right, and as such to mess with sovereignty is to mess with the divine.
- The rejection of the legitimacy of the state one lives in based on religious reasons, therefore rejecting the politics of that state.
- The belief that secular politics is a distraction from religious activities and that they should not get involved.
Some faiths explicitly reject politics, including:
Variants
Jehovah's Witnesses
Jehovah's Witnesses is a restorationist, non-trinitarian, and Millenarian Christian denomination that follows one God known as 'Jehovah' who is the creator and sovereign ruler of The Universe, and Jesus is The son of God, but not a part of the Trinity. They are religiously rejectionist and anti-nationalist, believing earthly politics are illegitimate and that faith knows no nation or borders. As such, they refuse to swear any oaths. They are run by a
council of variable size called the Governing Body.
Adherents of Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate traditional Christian holidays such as Christmas and Easter due to them not being in the Bible. JW also rejects the universally accepted claim that Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross, rather than believing Jesus died on a torture stake.
The movement originated in
and its followers are a very small, but vocal minority in most European and American countries.
Personality
Mostly like apoliticism (being apathetic to anything political), but religious. What he grills or whether he grills anything at all, depends on the religion he is shown following. He may also be shown to worship grills and treat grilling like a religious ceremony.
How to Draw
The flag is based on the logo of the Watch Tower Society, the non-profit organization regulating Jehovah's Witnesses, a religious rejectionist movement.
- Draw a ball
- Draw an outline of a castle tower from bottom to center
