It has traits in common with choice feminism given its emphasis that women aren't a hivemind and should be free to express themselves without obstruction or harming others.

Some claim Libertarian styled feminism is almost as old as Feminism in USA itself-- some scholars like Sharon Presley will even suggest it is the earliest one, when feminism movements were deeply linked with classical liberalism values such as universal suffrage. Current Libertarian Feminism however, has a more clear roots with the rise of Second Wave Feminism back in mid-20th century, which focusing on individual freedom and anti authoritarian aspects.
