The [[File:Necon.png]] North Atlantic Treaty Organization, commonly known by its abbreviation [[File:Necon.png]] NATO, is an intergovernmental military alliance between 28 European countries and 2 North American countries. Established in the aftermath of World War II, the organization implements the North Atlantic Treaty which was signed on 4 April 1949. [[File:Necon.png]] NATO serves the role of collective security, whereby its member states agree to mutual defense in response to an attack by any external party whether it be another country or a terrorist organization. The [[File:Necon.png]] NATO headquarters are located in Brussels, [[File:Cball-Belgium.png]] Belgium.
