Talk:Authoritarianism
Listed ideologies
Wow, lots of ideologies and people seem to practice this! It's almost like libertarianism and liberalism are very recent inventions. Given that most governments felt entitled to regulate the most intimate aspects of people's lives until a few centuries ago, I feel it would be more useful to focus on the exceptions to this ideology pre-1700. For example, Mencius' ideas are interesting not because they were necessarily very popular, but because they were so uncommon in an era where statist philosophies such as Legalism ruled supreme. The infobox is already absurdly overcrowded as it is, so do we really need to know that nearly every prominent leader practiced this ideology until the beginning of the Age of Revolutions?

The InfoBox is collapsable so its fine the way it is.
I guess that's fine. Is there any reason why Moctezuma II of the Aztecs is specifically targeted, then? I don't see how he is any more authoritarian than any of the other rulers or political leaders of the Aztec Empire.
