Assyrian nationalism is an ongoing secessionist movement that has been active since the 19th century as a form of [[File:Native.png]] [[Indigenism|indigenous]] nationalism. As they are descendants of the Assyrian empire that ruled over part of the Middle East from the 25th century BC to the 7th century BC. The Assyrian homeland is mostly based in [[File:Cball-Iraq.png]] northwestern Iraq, but also may include [[File:Cball-Syria.png]] northeastern Syria, [[File:Cball-Iran.png]] northwestern Iran, and [[File:Ottoman.png]] southeastern Turkey.
