It is less extreme and distinct from [[File:Nation.png]] [[Nationalism]], largely in the way that Patriotism doesn't necessarily call for any actions to be taken to ensure sovereignty or dominance unless we talk about extreme anti-nationalist and/or anti-sovereign policies like one world government, elimination of his nation, open borders etc..., is just based on loyalty and love for the land.
