It is different, though similar on the bottom line, to [[File:Patcon.png]] [[Paternalistic Conservatism]] as paternalistic conservativism justifies welfare by the concept of [[File:Paternalism.png]] [[Paternalism]]- in that the state should protect and assist the less fortunate in society; whereas Conservative Social Democracy justifies welfare as a tool for empowering trade unions and the working class.
