Talk:Authoritarian Capitalism
LKY was not influenced by Georgism
LKY did advocate for using revenue from land-based taxes for public services and projects (Singapore does not have a LVT), but did so outside the influence of Georgism and without the intent of achieving widespread land ownership. All other similarities of Singapore's land policies to Georgism are mere similarities. All sources backing geoauthoritarianism as an influence for LKY are innacurate or unrelated.
The first "source", is a substack opinion article that lists the single georgist policy implemented in Singapore (Using Land Rents for All of Society), but it also lists three differences: The Very high % of land owned by the state; Lost value of rent due to land appreciation not having complete effect on the amount charged in 99-year leases; government intervention in favour of homeowners whose leases are close to ending. The first source lists more differences than overlap.
The second source, the "Land Acquisition Act 1966", simply gives the Singaporean government the power to adquire any land it wants, in exchange for compensation. This act doesn't make land free and only applies for the state.
The third source, the book "Urban Land Rent: Singapore as a Property State", also does not argue that Singapore adheres to Georgism.
Singapore is such a success story that many want to claim that success as their ideology's success. Libertarians want to, socialists want to. Georgists are no different, especially because their ideology wasn't really ever implemented. - Abrokendoor (talk)
You are right which is why I'm not using georgism I'm using geoauthoritarianism and I already got it confirmed with tiberius
I'm not surprised, you did somehow manage to convince the mods that Khomeini was anti-Trans rights and they've allowed your false arguments to stay in that page. I think you might as well be able to convince the mods that 2 + 2 = 5. - Abrokendoor (talk)
