Partially the reason why organized religion gets a bad reputation. It’s okay to practice religion, but it’s NOT okay to use religion for harmful or destructive purposes.

IDKIDK: Falun Gong is a cult, why so many people support it?

• TheExtinctAnimals: It is not necessary a cult. It is a new religious movement, which sometimes become synonymous with “cult”. I think it’s mostly because that “cult” is one of the worst labels out there, and it has been used against Falun Gong in the persecution in China. So many people that don’t agree with Falun Gong’s beliefs (like anti-communism and reactionary views) tend to put that label on.

TheExtinctAnimals: We should move Falun Gong to Reactionaryism. I feel like the “Falun Gong is a cult” thing really is one-sided (on the side of progressives, Dengists, etc). Plus I feel like Reactionaryism is a LOT more fitting with Falun Gong’s views and principles.

I don't think Rajneesh fits into Cultism. Of course his beliefs were pretty esoteric but they were still atheists.
