Homonationalism is a totalitarian mostly culturally far-right ideology with the exception of 
LGBT rights being a core value.
Homonationalism is an idea that draws association with nationalist values and LGBT rights. For example, they enthusiastically believe that homosexuality is compatible with traditional masculinity and often hold disdain for femininity, which is especially true in antiquity. In more contemporary times, critics claim that examples of Homonationalism include the United States' modern insistence on global gay rights being used to justify foreign intervention, or Israel's acceptance of gay marriage being used to legitimize their claim over Palestine. These statements are known as Pinkwashing in LGBT studies, as they use issues of LGBT rights to distract from violence or nationalist sentiments. Homonationalism was not originally an ideology, but rather a critique of certain LGBT ideas. That being said, people who hold nationalist views associated with LGBT rights may be described as Homonationalists.
