Economy

Trade

Trade is something very important and a nation cannot live without it. It is however much harder for countries like Mexico to benefit from free trade because wages being so much smaller here than in other countries. Nonetheless, Free Trade is still much better than the homemade protectionist myth that has thankfully been mostly rid of here. The biggest problem with everything being home produced like so many protectionists want is production price. If everything was homemade what would end up happening is workers would be given their pay check, their pay check which costs as much as what they're producing leading to prices to jump really high because of how expensive labour is leading to a true price inequality. However of course somethings should remain Nationalised. Like Pemex, PAN!

Welfare

Welfare is really important to help those who can't do it themselves. So many people cant afford simple needs like water, housing and medication that big companies would not be able to help with. The Idea that charity is better than welfare is stupid. Charity given to churches, foudations, etc. are usually if not always had a hand stuck up their ass, with several middle men taking out what they believe is their share before it goes to who it was intended to go to.

Regulation

Companies should be heavily regulated to ensure there not exploiting its workers. There have been countless times where big companies exploit it's workers to save a cent. We know this well enough. The only thing that keeps companies from reinstating the hacienda system is government regulation. The Mexican People know all this too well.

Government

Taxes

Taxes should be lowered on the poor who simply cannot afford to pay a giant fee on something meant to help them and instead should be raised on the rich who can afford to pay for it. Pay your fair share.

Size

Government shouldn't be too big nor too small. A small government leads often to criminal organizations taking advantage and a big government leads to big corruption and exploitation. There must be balance.

Social

I believe that if you aren't harming anyone else you can do whatever you want. If you want to use drugs, that's your problem and I'm not going to stop you. The problem with conservatism is that you can't control what people do. People will do what they want to, even if it's against the law. Most of what I believe is considered "progressive," except abortion. Even as a progressive I have to note the evil of abortion. I say if it's not harming anyone else it's fine, abortion harms someone.
