Odalism, is an economically ill-defined (although third position, opposed to both Marxism and Capitalism), anti-statist (although doesn't like to be referred to as an anarchist), primitivist, tribalist, Neo-Pagan and culturally far-right ideology.

Odalism also called heathenry contemporary Germanic Paganism, or Germanic Neopaganism is a primary belief that Civilization had disastrous consequences for Europe, the rest of the world as a whole, and all living things therein. He believes that high-tech civilization is unsustainable and that its collapse is imminent, either from the exhaustion of non-renewable resources, climate catastrophe (particularly a new ice age), or even a nuclear war, whichever comes first.

In the meantime, he advocates for Europeans to return to a simple life in the countryside, contribute to the system as little as possible, and create as many native-European children as possible. Post collapse, he believes that only the best, and brightest 0.01% of humanity will survive to carry on the future, as pagan, Odalism also believes that race is hereditery but it believes it in a way nazis do like aryans going back to the best 0.01% hunter-gatherer tribal societies.

History

Odalism is the term that the frontman of the Black Metal band Burzum, Varg Vikernes, uses to describe his personal ideology. In his teenage years, and throughout his 20's he was a strong supporter of   Nazism. In 1994, at the age of 21 Vikernes was convicted of murder, and 3 counts of arson in Norway, and was sentenced to 21 years in prison, of which he served 15 years. While he was imprisoned, he drifted away from National Socialism, and developed his anti-industrialist, anti-civilization, tribalist worldview. A while after he was parolled in 2009 (aged 36) he moved to the French countryside. and created his popular Youtube channel, Thulean Perspective, in July 2012, which he used to promote the ideology of Odalism until it was banned from the site in June, 2019, Currently in 2021 it is known that he is living in a house in a forest away from society with his wife and 7 children.

Foundations and Beliefs

Based around the views of Varg Vikernes, mostly on the materials from the now gone ThuleanPerspective YouTube channel and later his Bitchute channel and Twitter account, as well as several books written by Varg.

Odalism believes in a tribally organized society, he despises civilization and believes technology should ideally regress to level of the Iron Age (with the exclusion of   agriculture, instead preferring   permaculture). In the meantime however, he believes modern technology should be used by people to help them return to a simple and traditional life, to prepare for the fall of civilization.

Odalism is a Pagan ideology that believes Europeans should follow (Varg's understanding of)   European Paganism. He is opposed to     Abrahamic belief systems, seeing them as foreign and internationalist religions that are alien to the values of European peoples. It should be noted that he has his own understanding of European Pagan religions, in which the ancient myths and fables are allegories describing a process of reincarnation and birth. This spiritual worldview serves as a support for his other views, since it implies a connection to one's ancestors.

As for race, Odalism is an   ethnonationalist and racialist ideology. He believes that races should be seperate from each other. As a result, he opposes immigration, globalization, and interracial mixing - all of which he associates with urbanization and high-tech civilization. Odalism, being largely concerned with Europe, is an ideology that follows the tradition of Nordicism, and argues that blonde hair and fair skin are markers of native Europeans (he is primarially concerned with skin colour; non-blondes are still considered European, just with minor foreign influence). He also believes that native Europeans are direct descendants of the pre-historic neanderthals. Non-Europeans, while not wanted in Europe, are tolerated in their homelands and Odalism argues they should have independence.

Odalism is staunchly Anti-   capitalist, and Anti-   communist (although preferring the latter to the former), as well as anti-  feudalist. He does however praise medieval Scandinavian Odelsrett law.

Varg has said Odalism is neither   anarchist (primarily due to the historical baggage which accompanies the term), nor   totalitarian. That being said, it is explicitly   anti-statist, and has endorsed the absence of the State in his vision of the future multiple times, preferring Neolithic-tribal organization instead, putting Odalism at the bottom of the compass by default.
