"I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy... The Nordic model is an expanded welfare state which provides a high level of security to its citizens, but it is also a successful market economy with much freedom to pursue your dreams and live your life as you wish."

The Nordic Model, also known as the Scandinavian Model is an economically moderate, civically liberal (mostly), and mostly culturally left ideology that believes in the Nordic political model. Its economic system is market capitalism with a large welfare state and a neo-corporatist bargaining system, while also having a parliamentary form of government (3/5 monarchist countries, 2/5 republican). It can be debated if the model is aligned more with Social Democracy or Social Liberalism due to the similarities between the two of them. Most of its followers would claim to be the former, particularly outside of the Nordic countries. Bernie Sanders is probably its biggest supporter outside of Scandinavia.

Personality

Shy, reserved, and pessimistic, but when you get to know him (or get him drunk), he is a very optimistic and happy-go-lucky kind of person. Likes to visit the sauna and get drunk. His favorite drink is coffee. Gets annoyed when people call him a socialist and gets VERY mad when they say it as an insult.

The flag and ball design of the Nordic model is based on the naval jack of Sweden-Norway.

  1. Draw a ball.
  2. Split the ball into four triangular parts using two diagonals.
  3. Color the left and right parts Navy Blue, with a Golden Yellow horizontal stripe going across in the middle
  4. Color the top and bottom parts Deep Red, with a White-Blue-White vertical stripe going top-to-bottom
  5. Draw two eyes
  6. (Optional) Show the ball holding a coffee cup (a very common beverage in North European countries)

  • European Federalism - Denmark, Sweden and Finland are all EU members. Stay away from Norway's oil and Iceland's fish though.
  • Eugenicism - I remember the dark time when Sweden supported you, but now, we help the disabled, we do not kill/castrate them.
  • Multiculturalism - At first I supported you because of our falling birth rates. But then the crime rate went up, not to mention the fact that most refugees refused to integrate into our society and culture, which in turn made the far-right popular.
