These ideologies embody the principles of the enlightenment, namely individualism, liberty for said individual and some form of capitalism with property rights. Culturally liberals are varied from being ultra-progressive to conservative, but liberalism prioritizes secularism and the rights of the minority in general. On foreign policy, liberals can be aggressive or diplomatic, but adhere to the notion that world peace is possible via liberal institutions and economic interdependence brought by the free market, even if these liberal values have to be imposed on other countries by force.
