===... the [[w:Kuznets_curve|Kuznets curve]]===
For those unfamiliar with this curve, the Kuznets curve is a theory by Simon Kuznets, which states the inverse proportionality between economic growth and income inequality. To disprove this theory, we need only take two countries: the United States and Norway. Norway's economic growth is not comparable to that of the United States, but the opposite is true for income inequality. The economist Thomas Piketty has tried to readjust it, making the curve U-shaped, but I think that, after so many examples in the world today, one cannot draw such a direct correlation with economic growth and income inequality.

Price control is that form of state intervention which consists in the direct (and forced) modification of prices, mainly on essential goods. The problem lies in the relationship between demand and prices. If prices are fixed and cannot be changed in response to demand, supply will not be able to sustain demand. Moreover, prices will not always be compatible with production prices, which leads to economic losses.

===... the [[w:Malthusianism|Malthusianist theory]]===
The theory of Malthusianism states that widespread poverty is caused by ever-increasing population growth, which leads to a wider distribution of wealth. This theory therefore states that a birth control policy must be implemented to stop this process. I find this theory incredibly superficial - fewer people means less manpower. Furthermore, stating this theory would mean that wealth is distributed evenly across the world's population, which is not true.

Modern Monetary Theory states that inflation depends on government fiscal policies and that taxation is a means of counteracting it. There is a problem with this theory: the fact that the value of the currency also depends on investors' confidence in the state, not to mention relations with countries abroad.

Latest revision as of 01:37, 1 March 2024

My ideology is an economically independent and culturally centre-right ideology that advocates a welfare state that, however, also provides progressive business subsidies to fuel competition and pro-consumer growth. I think high public spendings shall be repaid from GDP, growth, a reformed taxation system and international trade. Unlike the socialist model of interventionism, my ideology relies on tax cuts, subsidies and direct universal taxes, rather than company taxation, so as not to drive away investment. My ideology is culturally conservative, but with progressive views on abortion, LGBTQ+ rights and contraception, although its movements should take everything more carefully

Opinion concerning current conflicts and disputes

Israel-Palestinian Conflict: Palestine has been jewish since the late bronze age

Russian-Ukrainian Conflict: Keep those pesky russian out of Crimea!

PRC vs ROC (Taiwan): Oh, you mean the Communist Rebels vs Real China

Northern Cyprus: It is no more than a turkish puppet

Greenland dispute: Look at the babies fighting over an ice rock...

Belarus : Putin's puppet regime shall not survive through the next century. Better than the liblefts though

Brexit: YES! Without the EU, we'll reach the sta- oh wait, we ran out of petrol

Kosovo : It is basically Albania

Afghanistan File:Taliban ball.png : Long live Old Afghanistan!

Economic Policies

My economic doctrine revolves around the concept of creating a stable, secure and profitable environment for businesses through policies designed to stimulate economic growth based on collaboration (such as subsidies, soft loans, crisis intervention at the discretion of companies...) and minimise the possibility of insolvency. My ideology advocates a system based on neo-corporatism (or social corporatism) and tripartism. These policies will be implemented in a way that balances a welfare state, with high public spending and high standards for wages. The sources of revenue for the state will be caused by expected economic growth and, consequently, GDP growth, and by a taxation system focused on a few progressive and universal taxes that are fair. I am pro-free market vis-à-vis nations with a market comparable or better than the national one, because there is no risk of them replacing yours, whereas with nations like China or India the tables are turned. The domestic market must always be the convenient one. As for inflation, it will be controlled through centralisation of the currency, coupled with bullish trading policies that follow the needs of the moment in a malleable and responsive manner, as well as rare shock appreciation policies in cases of very serious crises.

Monetary Policies

I believe that central banks should play a fundamental role in the monetary stability of the country. Since my economic programme envisages fast economic growth, it is important to keep inflation at acceptable levels (3% at the most). Inflation targeting shall be forward-looking and flexible so that it can contribute to high and stable output and employment, and to counteracting financial imbalances.

How interventionism should be handled without hurting the economy

Alas, regulationism in history has caused some trouble, and all (or most) of it for one reason: regulationism was run cumbersomely. The policies implemented most of the time were incompatible with the natural functioning of the market, often leading to a sick and dependent market on the decidedly not eternal subsidies. In my view, however, interventionism must have the dual purpose of welfare and economic growth. For example, if you need to hire people in an area, you focus on the most productive sectors by going along with financial forecasts and thus giving the initial financial boost to a growth process that must be autonomous.

Taxation

Taxation is NOT theft, it's just a way for some of the individual's wealth to go to society, as it should if we want (and demand) a civilized and organized system. However, I think taxation must follow three basic points: it must be progressive (so no flat tax), concentrated on a few large taxes, and based on the individual's income or wealth. The last point is fundamental: if an entrepreneur is very rich, we should tax him more than the company itself. Company taxes shall follow the current flow, if not be reduced. The company must have all the money it needs to grow, people should be mainly be taxed for their individual (real) income. Of course, taxes on corporations will still be there, but universal taxes like the income tax will have an emphasis, so that:

  • We can afford to flatten company taxes to stimulate growth
  • Fund a full welfare state
  • Fund wars abroad Be nice
  • Subsidize struggling companies

It is very important that you also follow a proper approach to growth to fund this. See taxation as your payback to society rather than a theft. If you use roads, hospitals or literally everything in a society, you owe that to the society itself

Alternative to trade unions

Trade unions should not exist; they should be replaced by non-aligned semi-state associations that find the intersection between the interests of workers, the employer and, secondarily, the state. Compromises would occur primarily through collective agreements or subsidized loans.

Welfare

I'll be brief here, welfare should behighly extended, but based on the productivity of the individual, except in desperate cases. A possible homeless person will have to enjoy various possibilities to integrate into the world of work and repay his debt to the state simply by working (remember that the state derives from growth and work). Wages will be determined by collective agreements between the state and the single companies, so that the company's income is fairly distribuited among its dependents without having to discourage growth

Job Automation

Robots are wonderful, they increase productivity considerably, but they can cause so many people to lose their jobs. Therefore, adding an exception to my taxing policy, robots should be taxed heavily (and progressively, or it wouldn't apply to corporations), so that mass replacement would be too expensive

Keynesianism

There are three variants of Keynesian School:

  • Neo-Keynesianism
  • New Keynesianism
  • Post Keynesianism

The first two are quite similar, both are Keynesian on the whole, but with an eye to the microeconomic mechanics of Smithian theory. From the Neo-Keynesian theory, I like the IS-LM-NAC system, as well as the idea on which both variants were built, namely the interaction of the two main schools of thought. However, it loses credibility because of the Philips Curve, which has been disproved several times, in favour of New Keynesianism, which instead takes the Neo-Keynesian concept and expands it in a more pragmatic context while offering solutions for various flaws in the market, and for this reason gets the place of best variant. Post-Keynesianism is the simple re-proposition of Keynes' classical ideas in the modern world, and although these alone may work well in a crisis, in a longer-term context they do not compete with the other two variants.

The problem with...

... the Kuznets curve

The economist Thomas Piketty has tried to readjust it, making the curve U-shaped, but I think that, after so many examples in the world today, one cannot draw such a direct correlation with economic growth and income inequality.

... price control

Price control is that form of state intervention which consists in the direct (and forced) modification of prices, mainly on essential goods. The problem lies in the relationship between demand and prices. If prices are fixed and cannot be changed in response to demand, supply will not be able to sustain demand. Moreover, prices will not always be compatible with production prices, which leads to economic losses.

... the Malthusianist theory

The theory of Malthusianism states that widespread poverty is caused by ever-increasing population growth, which leads to a wider distribution of wealth. This theory therefore states that a birth control policy must be implemented to stop this process. I find this theory incredibly superficial - fewer people means less manpower. Furthermore, stating this theory would mean that wealth is distributed evenly across the world's population, which is not true.

... the Modern Monetary Theory

Modern Monetary Theory states that inflation depends on government fiscal policies and that taxation is a means of counteracting it. There is a problem with this theory: the fact that the value of the currency also depends on investors' confidence in the state, not to mention relations with countries abroad.

Government

I would like to see a federal presidential republic, therefore with autonomous regions but loyal to the legitimacy of the central government. This republic would crack down on corruption, money laundering and various other behaviours that could damage the functioning and/or image of the state, through heavy penalties and infiltration of parliamentary circles

Books I've read and my opinion on them

The Wealth of Nations - A classic. It basically explains how the market works, but it doesn't consider the practical hindrances

Das Kapital / The Communist Manifesto - Frankly, it's more a philosophical book than a political one

The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money - Although with some flaws, it's way more pragmatic than Adam Smith

Varieties of Capitalism - It explains the difference between liberal market economies and coordinated market economies, a good read

Statism and Anarchy - A civilization needs a state!

Capital in the Twenty-First Century - I don't think its arguments are really valid, BUT it's true that economic growth doesn't necessarily reduce income inequality

Mein Kampf - Complete nonsense. It's just a bunch of conspiracy theories on jews. Just think he based his arguments on the notoriously false documents of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion

  • Regulated Capitalism - The best parts of capitalism with the best parts of social democracy

  • EU - You improved my country's economy with a stable currency and free trade agreements, but we need to renegotiate the terms on how I should handle immigration. If I want to repatriate, I will do it
  • Eco-Capitalism - A better version of him, but I can't expect capitalists to spend that much money on ecologic stuff
  • Keynesian School - Interventionism is good!
    • Neo-Keynesianism - Better than classical keynesianism, and merging neoclassical theories in keynesianism is good and necessary
    • New Keynesianism - Even better than Neo-Keynesianism, as it's more pragmatic and it expands several market arguments
    • Post Keynesianism - Frankly, the least good of its variants, but still good. As classical keynesianism, it's too much short term

Users

  • Ninjack-Aus - Interventionist ✔, federalist ✔, nordic-model based ideology ✔. I agree on making taxes more equal, but don't raise them too much for rich people either, it's not for not making them starve, but it's in order to attract investments. In general, his policies are on the right track, but a bit too aggressive to capitalism and contradictory (he's also too liberal)
  • BeryAb - He could be a little less globalist (economically), but the rest is really good!
  • Magicpeartree - Good start, but he should be way less socialist
  • ChiroPro - We both like capitalism and welfare, but he's too friendly with the socialists
  • Kirbly - His policies are way too progressive, but his economic policies, even in taxation (regulationist but pro-investments), make him deserve a sit here
  • Pirate Tails - He's a progcon and Social Liberal, I wish he was less eurosceptic tho
  • ArGyro - I wish the Byzantine Empire was back Excellent idea to discourage foreign monopolies, but you don't want to discourage foreign investments completely, do you?

  • Anarcho-Capitalism - How about monopolies and wages?

  • Trumpism - Look, you didn't help much, okay?
  • LGBT Community - I support the equality between heterosexuals and everyone else, but you sometimes cross the line
  • Progressivism - I agree with you in many things, but you are hypocrite sometimes
  • Minarchism - Market needs regulation to fulfill consumer's interests and stimulate competition. We both want low company taxes though
  • Avaritionism - That's way too far
  • Apoliticism - Either you want it or not, politics will be an important factor in your life
  • Christian Theocracy - I don't believe, but I respect who does. I'd just like if you stop manipulating poor people's mind tho, Christianity is the message of Jesus Christ, not whether or not abortion is legal!
  • Imperialism - You're a disgusting being who enslaves poor countries! Now, what was your idea about that new low-price pipeline?
  • Absolute Monarchism - I understand the cultural heritage, but absolute monarchism has never done anything good
  • Liberalism - I KNOW YOU HAVE RIGHTS, BUT NOW GET THIS VACCINE FOR GOODNESS SAKE!
  • Laissez-Faire - We agree on the fact the market can survive on its own, but how about monopolies and eguality?
  • Stratocracy - I too like law and order, but the army mustn't take over
  • Futurism - You had potential, yet you're just the son of him and him
  • Salazarism - I've mixed feelings towards you, because you are corporatic, but you lead to economic prosperity (at the start)

Opinion concerning current issues

LGBTQ+ Community's rights

In my opinion, making a distinction between the rights of heterosexuals and all others is like making a distinction between light and dark hair. I see absolutely no reason why a homosexual couple should not enjoy the same rights as a heterosexual one. On the other hand, if you exhibit something obscene during a demonstration, LGBTQ+ or not, it is obscene.

Gay adoptions

I will only say that homosexual couples cannot adopt a child if someone presents me with the results of a trustworthy study stating the 'abnormality' of children raised by homosexual couples.

Abortion

Preventing abortion means denying a woman the human and fundamental right to be the master of her own body. I would only prevent abortion if too long after conception

Military Spendings

Personally, I don't live in the US, and my country doesn't spend that much on the military, but as far as the yanks are concerned, you can only afford to spend that much money on the military if you have first solved all the internal deficiencies, and as things stand, you are far from that goal.

Education Price

Education must be encouraged as much as possible, which is why it must benefit from a large monetary fund. Paid school-to-work alternation related to the course of study, and as such valid for training, will be encouraged, so that more earning opportunities will be available to students without them spending too much time doing something that has nothing to do with their course of study, it will in fact be recognised as an educational pathway and not penalised.

Trade Unions

I am against the unions, all they do is complain all day and get nowhere. And if they ever did get anything done, their decision would most likely bankrupt the company in question, and all the workers would lose their jobs, or it would lead to the company itself going into a negative balance sheet, forcing layoffs and wage cuts. For my alternative to trade unions, read the economic section

Weapon Dealing

Weapons should be distinguished between tolerable, such as shotguns or drum guns, and intolerable, such as machine guns. Making guns accessible to everyone means increasing crime exponentially, and I am for a clean state.

Drug Dealing and Prostitution

Unlike weapons, which are potential public dangers, drugs and prostitution should be legalised, regularised and taxed. What is best for a prostitute? To be exploited by criminal corporations without protection or rights, or to work legally, earning the state money and enjoying health and human rights? On drugs, however, we should only legalise soft drugs. Some might argue that drugs can be dangerous, especially when driving. And I reply, so is alcohol. All we need to do is tighten up the controls so that the crime rate does not increase.

Immigration

Oof, hot topic. Immigration must be regularised first. For immigrants, I would have in mind a special plan to enable them in the country in the short term, helping them to find work. The immigrant, once he has found employment, would have to repay the debt he has accrued to the state, but in a rather unimpressive way. However, if the immigrant refuses or does not show enough commitment, we will be forced to find him/her temporary accommodation before re-impatriating him/her. We are good, yes, but we are not fools

State Religion, Secularism or State Atheism?

The right to profess one's faith is constitutional, so both state atheism and imposed state religion are anti-constitutional. I can put up with states that have an official religion, but tolerate other faiths as well, in order to preserve their historical identity, which, like it or not, is part of the history of almost every country. I believe that religion should be protected as a cultural asset, in the case of my country, therefore, the Catholic religion, which, objectively, has been and still is a large part of our culture.

Enviroment

I would simply apply the aforementioned principles to gradually push companies to invest in renewable (or nuclear) resources without them having economic losses

External Policy

If economically the more countries are united, the better, militarily, I think it is important to preserve a safe environment for our nation, even through arms sales or direct military involvement.

Crucifix in schools?

In my country, Italy, the debate on whether we should have crucifixes in classrooms is still raging, albeit less than a few years ago. To date, the law only requires it to be displayed in primary and secondary schools. According to critics, the crucifix would be a violation of parents' rights in free religious instruction, while according to the conservative and reactionary wing, the crucifix is part of our culture and should not be discouraged. In my opinion, we should adopt a similar approach to Austria: if a certain percentage or more of students are Catholic, the crucifix can be displayed at the discretion of the school leadership. Finally, if at least half of the classes state, through their class representatives, that they want the crucifix removed, the school is obliged to accede to the requests.

Woke Culture

Woke Culture is, without a shadow of a doubt, the worst element of the culture of the new millennium so far.

United Nations

To recap, the Taliban have taken control of Afghanistan, China is committing countless genocides among Tibetans and Uighurs, Russia still holds Crimea, there is a freaking cartel war in Mexico, Turkey is deporting Syrian and Kurdish refugees, and dozens of nations are fighting jihadist insurgencies. Now, WHERE ARE YOU, UNITED NATIONS?

Globalization

At this point we are all sure that globalisation is inevitable, but not unmanageable. Economic globalisation must be shaped according to the needs of the nation and its citizens. This means making sure the national market does have the upper hand, but with foreign markets also having the power, through competition, to shape prices in favour of the consumers and growth.

What does Rome have to do with this?

We all know Rome, the cultural cradle of Europe for years and years. And it is this feeling, this desire to return to being the cultural beacon of Europe, that separates me from pure progressivism. Of course, I don't have the territorial holdings of the Roman Empire, but some territories surely belong to the state of Italy: Istria, Savoy, Nice and the Ticino area. For the rest, in my opinion, the new meaning of restoring the Roman Empire is to become the jewel of Europe, culturally, economically and socially.

"Why so Authoritarian?"

With the many users who are ideologically close to me, we do not share authoritarianism. As you will have noticed if you have read the other sections of the page, in particular the economic section, the state must be organic and reactive, and this, a liberal democracy, does not allow it.
