Jingoism is an ideology that advocates Nationalism in an approach that takes violence and threats as opposed to peaceful ways. Jingoism believes that their nation is better than everyone else.

History

Beliefs

Jingoists believe in Ultranationalism and chauvinism, believing that their nation is supreme to others. Most jingoists are irredentists, believing that the nation must militarize in order to reclaim it's glory. Jingoists believe in a aggressive foreign policy in order to assert dominance in strength over other countries in order to defend national interest.

Variants

Vatnikism/Rashism

Vatnik is a (mostly) derogatory term used to describe extremely patriotic Russians.

The terms "Vatnik" and "Vata" (meaning cotton wool coat and cotton-wool, respectively) are used to describe people who demonstrate overly aggressive and outright stupid forms of patriotism (so-called "Ura-Patriots"), fanatical loyalty to Russia and disgust to everything West-related. Originally, the term Vatnik was much more specific: Russian boomers who vote for United Russia en masse: the western equivalent of this was the Neo-Con voting block: George W. Bush voters and such. Vatniks themselves differ from Russian Nationalists, they believe in the Soviet-Era mentality of international unity, especially with central asia. Russian Nationalists however are explicity ethnic nationalists, who, ironically had a higher view of Ukraine because of it's Far Right movements. The Russian far right has criticism of actual vatniks which roughly line up with criticism of Putin and United Russiia itself.

Rashism as a term is inorganic, unlike Vatnik, it is alleged to be a portmanteau of Russia and Fascism, somewhat equivalent to the term Latinx, it makes Russian speakers absolutely cringe, many of whom would be self-proffessed Russian fascists who absolutely hate the term. Another similarly inorganic term is Refusenik, though it has a much different context.

Vatnik is one of the words that has been so overused it lost it's original meaning and any weight it had as an insult, moreso some people identify with the term.

Pinkieism

Little Pink (simplified Chinese: 小粉红; traditional Chinese: 小粉紅; pinyin: xiǎo fěnhóng) is a term used to describe yuong jingoistic Chinese nationalists on the internet, who strongly criticized people who published posts containing negative news about China. Formerly known as Jinjiang Patriotic Girls' Club (晉江憂國少女團) (due to its origin from Jinjiang Literature City (晉江文學城), a literature Internet board which uses the colour pink as their theme colour apart from the female-majority userbase of that board, later the term was replaced by a gender-neutral term "Pinkie"), are different from members of the 50 Cent Party or Internet Water Army, as the pinkies are not paid. In terms of demographics, according to Zhuang Pinghui of South China Morning Post, 83% of the pinkies are female, with most of them between 18 and 24 years old. More than half of the pinkies are from third- and fourth-tier cities in China and are using social media platforms banned in China such as Twitter and Instagram.

In the first days of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, similar to Vatniks, pinkies drew international attention for their role in contributing to most of the pro-war, pro-Putin sentiments on the Chinese internet. Pinkies self-proclaimed that they are leftists, specifically in the Authoritarian Left quadrant, but they were actually in the Authoritarian Unity quadrant.
