Ethnocacerismo is a civically authoritarian, ultranationalist, and economically left ideology in Peru founded by Isaac Humala in the year 2000. It is based on a radical Indigenism that poses an authoritarian government led by indigenous people, and also places a lot of emphasis on the racial supremacy of the indigenous peoples and a strong militarism. His economic stances are far left, he also holds extreme ethno-nationalist and ethno-supremacist social and racial opinions. It can also be considered a Peruvian variant of National Bolshevism.

History

Ethnocacerismo originated from Peruvian lawyer Isaac Humala and his sons, Olianta and Antaro, during the war against the Shining Path in 1987. At first, Ethnocacerism was a military doctrine, criticizing the military policies of Alan Garcia. In 1989, the Instituto de Estudios Etnogeopolíticos was created to serve as a Ethnocacerist think tank.

Ethnocacerism surged in popularity in 2000, after the Humala brothers launched a uprising known as the "Locumbazo" against then-Peruvian leader Alberto Fujimori. Although the uprising was defeated, the brothers were hailed for their anti-Fujimori stance. The Ethnocacerists, in 2005, launched another uprising, known as the "Andahuaylazo" with the help of Peruvian military veterans. This attempted takeover also failed, but still gained the Ethnocacerists international attention.

At present they have a large political presence in Peru, having managed to control the Union for Peru political party, thus having 9 members in the Peruvian Congress.

Ethnocacerism is a ethnic nationalist ideology that was created and developed by Peruvian labour lawyer Issac Humala in 1987.

Ethnic and racial nationalism

Ethnocacerism is formed upon the concept of indigenous ultranationalism. Ethnocacerists reject Peruvian nationalism, as Ethnocacerists such as Antaro Humala claim that Peru's current territories are colonial impositions. Instead, the movement believes in the concept of racial supremacy of Andreas. The movement is infamously xenophobic towards Chileans.

Irredentism and militarism

Ethnocacerists advocate for the reclaiming of Peru's former territories, such as the Chilean regions of Tarapacá and Arica. Ethnocacerists also lay claims to parts of Argentina and Colombia. Ethnocacerist theorists such as Antauro Humala justify this by claiming that the aforementioned territories are part of their ancestral homeland. Ethnocacerists also advocate for militarism, as the Ethnocacerist movement claims to be "a effective military doctrine that spoke to the experiences of Indigenous peoples."
